Showcasing products or specific brands through retail window designs is an essential aspect of visual merchandising and marketing. Because these designs contribute to the overall atmosphere of the store, it's important to bring fourth impactful designs, and create a lasting impression on customers.

For this project, I asked the designers to incorporate holiday themed elements provided by creative marketing to help maintain brand consistency with the look and feel of in-store signage. Marketing copy was included in each window frame to reinforce either the brand messaging, logo, or product storyline.

Home Services Bath Endcap Reimagined

My Role:  Visual Merchandiser & Art Direction

Our team was challenged with redesigning the bath endcap; reducing material costs, enhancing substrate quality, and improving overall aesthetics. I directed the creative team to explore materials that offer a balance between cost, quality, and appearance. It was important to streamline the design to reduce complexity and eliminate unnecessary physical products. This led to a lower production costs and easier install process.

To ensure the customer focus was on the program offering,

I challenged our agency to focus on factors like trend neutral

colors, texture, and product SKUs. This involved collaborating

with our Trend and Design and Install Services teams.

Operation Surprise Display

My Role:  Art Direction

Home Depot Foundation’s annual Operation Surprise campaign provides life-changing moments of surprise through service to our nation’s veterans. This year, the Foundation and Team Depot, The Home Depot’s associate volunteer force, repaired, renovated and improved homes and facilities for service members across the country.

I was challenged with providing art direction to the HD Foundation team's creative agency; to unify their vision with brand and visual standards and supervise the artistic production of display.

The original creative featured imagery at the top of the display, making the photos the focus. Modifications were requested to incorporate the lifestyle photos into the frame of the house, decrease the fence, reposition plants, and bring hashtag header and supporting copy to the forefront. This made for better composition, strategically directing the viewer's attention to specific elements within the design.

For this creative concept, the creative team utilized a combination of CGI and physical products.

 

I worked cross-functionally with the Trend & Design team for holiday trends and category merchant partners for product placement.

Home Services Endcap Reimagined - Generac

My Role Visual Merchandiser & Art Direction

I was challenged with establishing an endcap playbook to serve as an installation services plug and play reference guide for merchants and store leaders; improving durability, driving down signage cost, and go-to-market time. Several versions of the endcap were created by our team of designers based on attributes such as size, substrate, and price point.

Artwork Iterations: 

Early versions of the designs missed the mark on leading the shopper's eye to key product selling points. The final creative establishes a consistent flow of messaging and served as a template for future signage; starting with product features, transitioning to marketing copy, then cost and services offered.

Awareness Display

Team Depot, The Home Depot’s volunteer force, extends the mission of The Home Depot Foundation by working to improve the lives of U.S. military veterans and aid communities affected by natural disasters.
